About us
BUILT FROM THE CULTURE WE GREW UP WITH
Authentic Japanese car culture, shared by the people who grew up with it.
OUR STORY
Wangun OG was born in 2023, created by young Japanese car enthusiasts who grew up in Tokyo’s Wangan area.
For us, Wangan is more than a famous name in Japanese car culture. It is our home.
Growing up surrounded by Tokyo’s expressways, waterfront districts, and ever-changing automotive scene, we experienced Wangan car culture long before we ever thought about turning our passion into a business.
As Japan welcomed more visitors from around the world, we saw a growing international interest in JDM culture. We wanted to share that culture from a different perspective — one that was born here.
Not simply as a tour company, but as locals sharing the automotive culture we grew up with.
That idea became Wangun OG.
"To share authentic Japanese car culture with the world, directly from the people and places that shaped it."
WHO WE ARE
Taishin Morimoto
Founder & CEO, Wangun OG
Taishin Morimoto was born and raised in Tokyo’s Wangan area and has spent his entire life watching the waterfront districts around him transform.
Ironically, his family did not own a car when he was growing up.
But cars were everywhere around him.
On the streets, on the expressways, and throughout the neighborhoods of Tokyo Bay, he constantly saw cars that inspired him. As a child, he carried one simple thought:
One day, I want to drive cars like these too.
That dream eventually became something much bigger.
After spending a year living in Dubai, Taishin saw Japanese cars from an entirely different perspective. Surrounded by supercars, highly modified vehicles, and passionate automotive communities, he was surprised by how deeply Japanese cars were respected and loved outside Japan.
Seeing JDM cars thousands of kilometers away from home made him appreciate Japan’s automotive culture all over again.
When he returned to Japan, he wanted to create something that could connect those two worlds.
Today, Wangun OG welcomes guests from around the globe and gives them the opportunity to experience the cars and culture that once inspired him as a child.
What began as a local dream in Tokyo Bay is now an experience shared with car enthusiasts from around the world.
OUR CARS
The machines behind the experience.
Our cars are at the heart of Wangun OG.
Unlike a conventional sightseeing company, we own and operate a collection of genuine enthusiast cars that represent different sides of Japan’s automotive culture.
Our fleet includes:
- Top Secret–built Nissan GT-R R35
- Liberty Walk Nissan GT-R R35
- Nissan Skyline R34
- Toyota Chaser JZX100 with the legendary 1JZ-GTE
- Drift-spec Nissan Silvia S15
- BMW E46 with an SR20DET engine conversion
- Other carefully selected JDM performance and enthusiast cars
These are not display cars brought in simply for photographs.
They are part of Wangun OG.
Our collection ranges from legendary Japanese performance cars to highly modified street and drift builds, reflecting the tuning styles and automotive subcultures that have shaped Japan’s car scene.
That diversity is intentional.
Some cars represent the golden era of JDM. Others represent modern Japanese tuning culture. And some are completely unconventional builds created simply because we love cars.
We want our guests to experience more than just one famous model. We want them to discover the different sides of Japanese automotive culture — GT-Rs, Skylines, 1JZ-powered street cars, drift cars, tuned machines, and unique builds that you rarely encounter outside Japan.
We don’t just talk about JDM culture. We own it, drive it, build it, and live it.
They are part of the experience.
OUR GUIDES
Locals first. Guides second.
The people behind Wangun OG are just as important as the cars.
Our team includes Japanese guides who speak English and understand both local culture and the international JDM community.
More importantly, our guides are connected to Japanese automotive culture themselves.
We want our guests to be able to ask questions, talk about cars, learn about the places they visit, and understand the culture behind what they see.
All guides receive operational and safety training before conducting experiences, and our team continuously works to improve the quality of every tour.
We don’t want guests to feel like they are simply following a sightseeing guide.
We want them to feel like they are spending the night exploring Tokyo’s car culture with local enthusiasts.

WHY WANGUN OG?
Wangun OG was not created simply because JDM became popular around the world.
We grew up here.
We watched the roads, neighborhoods, cars, and communities around Tokyo Bay evolve. Japanese car culture shaped our interests long before we ever welcomed our first guest.
That is the perspective we want to share.
From legendary Japanese performance cars to Tokyo’s expressways and the people who keep the culture alive, our goal is to show you a side of Japan that cannot be fully understood from social media alone.
Experience Japanese car culture through the eyes of the locals who grew up with it.
